Our first review

Shipments of our 1/24 scale V-2 kit began just over a week ago, and the first official review of the model has been posted by Scott VanAken over at Modeling Madness.  We’ve been fans of Scott’s website for years, and visits there have long been part of our daily web routine.

We’ve also received many questions from modelers interested in building our V-2 kit, and most of these questions have centered on the unique blow-molded airframe component.  Here are answers to a couple of the most frequently heard questions:

From what kind of plastic is this part molded?  The blow-molded airframe component on our V-2 kit is made from styrene plastic (high-impact polystyrene, or HIPS, to be specific).  This is the same stuff used by Tamiya, Hasegawa, Revell, Airfix, and practically every other plastic kit manufacturer.  It is easy to cut, sand, glue, and paint, and will require that the builder use no new techniques.

How does the detail on the blow-molded part look?  It is sharp, crisp, and accurate, and everyone we’ve talked to today has been blown away by the results we’ve been able to achieve.  We invested months in refining the process used to create the detail you’ll see in the airframe component, and we think you’ll be as impressed as everyone else.

We’re not surprised that people have questions, frankly, as we’re a new company producing a bold new kit, using molding techniques never seen before in the hobby industry.
